Miracles: What’s the Point?
Today we’re starting a new series intended to lift our eyes in wonder to who Jesus is and what he has done for us. Our series is simply called Miracles. First we need to answer two basic questions; what do we mean by miracle, and how do the miracles of Jesus, done so long ago, hold any meaning for life today?

A sermon about money you probably won't like.
We can add, but God multiplies.

A Supernatural Church
Don’t long for a return to normal when Jesus has called us to expect the supernatural.

The Importance of Closing Remarks

Instructions to a Young Church
Towards the end of Colossians 4, Paul offers the young church a number of encouragements and instructions that our church, which is also young, would do well to hear.

Marriage & Parenting
The way the Bible speaks about marriage and parenting is very different than how our culture tends to. In Colossians 3, Paul calls wives to submit to their husbands, “as is pleasing in the Lord.” Even the use of the word submit is enough to send some people running. Is that the fault of scripture? Or, is it because we fail to see marriage and parenting in light of who Jesus is and what he has done for his own bride, the church?

Christian - You are holy, now be nice.
Many Christians hope their ‘niceness,’ including compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, will lead to God accepting and loving them based on their virtue. But in Colossians 3, Paul changes the order. Those who have received Jesus by faith are already chosen, holy, and loved. Because of this, Christians are called to live lives of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Weary World, Rejoice: Joy Has Come

Weary World, Rejoice: Peace Has Come
Christmas is often associated with peace, but how does Christmas lead to peace in a world so effected by conflict? Is the peace of Christmas just something for holiday greeting cards, or is there something in the arrival of Jesus that means peace for all of life today, including life outside of Christmas?

Weary World, Rejoice: Hope Has Come
We all need hope, and especially this year. If there’s a single word that described how so many are feeling after months of the pandemic, it’s ‘weary.’ However, Christmas provides us with a reason to have hope in the midst of weariness, whether it’s weariness from the pandemic or from other difficulties we are facing.

Alive in Christ, Putting Sin to Death
The Bible teaches there are ‘good works’ that should be part of the Christian life, but it does not teach that these good works are what saves us. Because Christians have found new life in Jesus, they should live in a way that reflects the goodness of the one who gave his life on their behalf.

The Dangers of False Teaching & The All-Sufficiency of Christ
False teaching was a danger for followers of Jesus in the young church in Colossae, and false teaching continues to be a threat for followers of Jesus today. What’s at risk when it comes to false teaching, and how do we determine exactly what false teaching is?
