New Years Resolutions & The Gospel
New Year's Resolutions season is the end of December and the beginning of January. Three tips to accomplish this, five steps for being a better that. It seems strange that there is such a focus on being better or doing better, all the while during the rest of the year, so much in our culture tells us that we are perfect just the way we are. So which one is it?
Hope at Christmas
Our Advent 2023 series starts with a look at the topic of ‘Hope’ and how the foundation for Christian hope in the future is based on God’s faithfulness shown in the past. Nowhere do we see this more fully than God sending his son for our rescue.
Grace in the Waiting
Many of us who want things, want things now. And that includes what we want from God. In sharp contrast, the Bible teaches us that God ‘acts for those who wait for him.’ There’s grace for those who wait, and we are invited to wait with faith.
Why Christmas?
Joy To The World
Weary World, Rejoice: Hope Has Come
We all need hope, and especially this year. If there’s a single word that described how so many are feeling after months of the pandemic, it’s ‘weary.’ However, Christmas provides us with a reason to have hope in the midst of weariness, whether it’s weariness from the pandemic or from other difficulties we are facing.
Lament with Hope
As we wrap up our series on what a Biblical response to what the coronavirus pandemic looks like, we’re asking, ‘Where do we go from here?’
David and Grief
Grief is real, and the Bible shows us the right way to acknowledge, deal with, and heal from grief.
